Why did you start CrossFit? Brandon, my husband, literally had to drag me in the door– kicking & screaming. I was scared to death of this place. I thought you had to ‘be in shape’ before you even started Crossfit. It took me a solid 2 months before my pre-WOD anxiety went away, which seems so ridiculous, looking back. Now, I can’t get enough of it.
Define “What is CrossFit?” The hardest thing you’ll always want do.
Favorite WOD: Grace, Fight Gone Bad, anything fast & heavy
Least Favorite WOD: Michael
Favorite Food or Meal: It’s impossible for me to choose just one thing. I do love chorizo, though. I’m obsessed with food–growing, shopping, making and eating, but not cleaning.
Something other members wouldn’t know about you: I was a pastry chef in college and have made a few wedding cakes, including my own.
What do you do outside of CrossFit: Health-Bent.com can be pretty time consuming
Biggest accomplishment you think can be attributed to CrossFit: Self confidence–something I really didn’t have before I started. It’s not always about the PR or mopping the floor with everyone, finishing a WOD gives you a feeling of tangible accomplishment–you feel like you can take over the world. It’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I also love that CrossFit is something Brandon and I do together. It has truly strengthened our relationship. The couple that pains together, remains together.
What/who inspires you? Kristan Clever. I’m not saying this because she won the 2010 Crossfit Games. Her attitude and perspective inspires me, and I think it had a lot to do with why she won.
