The CrossFit Kids program at Carolina CrossFit is designed for kids ages 6-12 to help introduce a healthy lifestyle from an early age. The goal of these classes is to use the broad, general, and inclusive methods of CrossFit programming to help kids prevent sports injuries, build self-esteem, and increase their capacity to take on different tasks in their lives, both physical and mental. Our CrossFit Kids program sticks to what CrossFit is all about… constantly varied, functional movements, at a relative high intensity… and we might just sprinkle in a game or two here and there! We program functional movements, which are activities that kids use in every day “play”, such as pulling, pushing, running, jumping, throwing, lifting climbing, etc. and the workouts are constantly varied in sets, reps, weights, and rounds to ensure they don’t get bored with same routine class after class. This program is designed to not only show kids that fitness is FUN, but to develop sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and listening skills that they will use both inside and outside of the gym.
